Russian Hill Estate Winery - Pinot With A View

Russian Hill Estate Winery, located in Windsor in the heart of the Russian River Valley, is a family owned winery dedicated to the production of terroir driven, handcrafted Pinot Noir and Syrah wines. The winery also happens to have one of the most stunning views in the wine country with sweeping panoramic vistas of the Russian River Valley below.

The winery is owned by Ellen Mack and Edward Gomez who purchased the land in 1997 after a two year extensive search for an appropriate site. At the time, the land was largely undeveloped but Mack and Gomez had a vision, and realizing the potential for great Pinot noir from the region, it was an easy decision to acquire this property and develop it from the ground up.

The nearby coast provides a marine layer keeping the area cool and foggy in the mornings but warm and sunny in the afternoons after the fog burns off. This allows for longer hang time of the fruit and slower ripening, which produces more complex layers and more natural acidity. The finished wines are well structured and good for aging……in essence, everything choreographed to create the perfect pinot.
