Inside the Tasting Rooms Dutcher Crossing is one of those intriguing places that you arrive at for a short visit and never want to leave. It lures you in with its beautiful gardens, warm, farmhouse architecture and friendly staff, then wows! you with its elegant wines and spectacular panoramic views of the vineyards in Dry Creek Valley. Debra Mathy, the proprietor, is relatively new to the winemaking scene and to Dry Creek Valley but don't let this fool you; there's nothing new about her understanding and appreciation of fine wine, plus, she's under the careful tutelage of Kerry Damskey who has been around the wine scene for decades. Debra purchased Dutcher Crossing (Dutcher Creek and Dry Creek cross on the property) after a six-year intensive search to find a winery that felt like home and, in 2007, she did just that. In pursuit of a lifelong dream to own her own winery, she set out in search of the right region, the right community and ultimately the right "feeling." And when she landed at Dutcher Crossing, she knew it would be the last stop. She, along with her Golden Lab, Dutchess, can be found at the winery on most days and are happy to share with you their passion for living out a dream. Her award-winning wines are alive with rich fruit, complex layers and a fullness that leaves your palate satisfied -- and Debra's often the one who will be telling you all about them. The picnic grounds surrounded by vineyards are open to the public. Bring your own gourmet goods, pick up a choice bottle of wine and spend the day in the company of good friends (either those you bring with you or those you meet there). When visiting Dutcher Crossing, we felt as if the other guests were friends we'd known for years. That says a lot about a place! Dutcher Crossing
