Inside the Tasting Rooms Amista Vineyards is a very special retreat amongst a host of wineries in the Dry Creek Valley. "Friendship" - the very foundation on which they were born, is a foundation on which they continue to stand. Making friends is at the root of everything they do and also how you'll feel after visiting this boutique winery. From the gracious staff to the cozy seating area, to the outdoor courtyard amongst the vineyards, feeling relaxed and "at home" is exactly what a visit to Amista inspires. In fact, the word Amista actually means "it makes friends" in Spanish. Mike and Vicky Farrow took a bit of a circuitous route into the wine making business from Saratoga to New Jersey and back, but we're glad they did! Mike has combined his background in chemistry with his love of cooking to create the perfect wines that go with food. In fact, Mike say's: "I want my wines to taste good and to make food taste better" and their Club Members agree, he's achieved just that. It helps that he plies them with home made pizza from their recently installed pizza oven but, they say, that's just icing on the cake. Amista Vineyards specializes in Dry Creek varietals from single vineyards produced in small batches including, Syrah (their specialty), Cabernet Sauvignon, Zinfandel, Chardonnay, Estate grown Rose from the Syrah grape and a port-style dessert wine called, "Ilusión," to add the finishing touch to any great meal. Come make new friends at Amista Vineyards and bring your old friends with you! 3320 Dry Creek Road
