Buena Vista Carneros - Where Old Meets New

Buena Vista Carneros was founded in 1857 and is California's First Premium Winery. Located a short drive from Sonoma's plaza square, this rare beauty with it's Stone Press House is a designated Historic Landmark.

Buena Vista Carneros has a long history and a juicy past (something about Count Haraszthy being eaten by crocodiles) which you can read about on their website, the important thing to focus on here however is the way they've intertwined this legendary past with the present.

The tasting room is intimate and cozy with warm woods, stone, and several small tasting nooks - in one of which they host their special food & wine pairing called the 'Carneros Room Tasting'. In this tasting they teach you how to match almost any wine with the food you eat. They pour five of their best wines from the Carneros region (think foggy mornings, longer growing season, and intensely flavored fruit) with samplings of artisan foods.

Their 'Ramal Tasting' features four current releases from their Ramal Vineyard Series which is specifically limited production, clone specific wines.

There is a self guided historical museum of sorts on the second floor and overlooks the tasting room below.

Then, there is their Atlas Peak wines that are also served in the Buena Vista tasting room. Atlas Peak wines focus on Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon from the mountain tops surrounding the Napa Valley, a 1,000 feet elevation or higher. Atlas Peak, Howell Mountain, Spring Mountain District and Mount Veeder all offer their own distinct high-elevation terroir and provide ideal growing conditions for bold, well-structured wines.

Buena Vista Carneros offers a beautiful shaded picnic setting, private tours and is available for private events. The perfect venue to host your wine country wedding.
